Call for Journal Entries: Sharing Strengths, Struggles, and Stories
Seeking Voices from Individuals Experiencing Houselessness or Low-Income Living
We are reaching out to individuals in San Diego County, who have firsthand experience with houselessness or living on a limited income. Our mission is to elevate authentic voices and illuminate the daily realities, resilience, and community strength of those often overlooked. Your story matters—and we invite you to share it.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome thoughtful, honest journal entries (350–600 words or more) reflecting on your personal strengths, daily struggles, and lived experiences navigating houselessness or low-income circumstances. Whether you’re overcoming obstacles, finding moments of joy, or simply describing a day in your life, your perspective is valuable.
- Reflect on what helps you endure tough times or moments you’re proud of.
- Share challenges you face, big or small—and how you cope.
- Describe your experiences: finding resources, building community, or the impact of local services and spaces, like the library.
Who Can Contribute?
If you have a library card, access to a computer or phone, and the ability to type your entry, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you prefer to remain anonymous or use a handle, your privacy and comfort are respected.
Compensation and Submission
Selected entries will receive $2 each, paid monthly via CashApp or PayPal. This is a small thank you for your time, insight, and willingness to share your story. We hope to publish multiple entries each month, amplifying a variety of voices.
Why Participate?
Your contributions help raise awareness of the ongoing challenges faced by marginalized communities and build a stronger, more compassionate network of support. By sharing your story, you not only affirm your own experiences but also inspire understanding and change.
If you’re interested, please submit your journal entry (or questions) using the contact form here to input your words and learning from your lived wisdom.
Together, let’s highlight the strength and dignity found in every story.
